Outback Australian golf-courses

The golf-courses of these two small opal mining communities, Grawin and Glengarry, are the only sport available in the area. The Club In The Scrub is Grawin's club house, which backs onto the course. Both these courses are not greens but hard red earth.

Glengarry has built their own warm and friendly clubhouse at the end of their golf course. It consists of a tin shed and a barbecue. There have been many enjoyable afternoons held at this clubhouse.

This course doubles as the Glengarry airstrip.

Both these clubs have serious thirst quenching facilities for those hot afternoon games.

Golf is played for nine months of the year with an end of season competition between the two clubs. Some members travel to Lightning Ridge and other local towns to compete in their competitions also.

Some of these players take the game very serious while others enjoy the game and a beer.
