4.13ct Opal Carving

This is an attractive little 4.13ct Opal Carving.It has a bright multi coloured pin fire pattern which gives way to a straw pattern on parts of the stone. The concave side is a little brighter than the other side. The hole through the stone is where there was a sand imperfection. My carver has made the most of this by making this hole large enough to pass a chain through it. Although it would look better in a custom made setting.

This is also a good stone for someone who does not like wearing gold or silver, as you could use leather to make it into a simple pendant. I look at this opal and think it actually looks like the ear of an elf.
