1.70ct Solid Opal with a large green pattern

This 1.70ct Solid Opal has a large blocky pattern, which is predominantly green but changes to a bright orange as the stone is rotated. The shades of orange and green change from one to another in large blocky movements. The large blocks of colour have striations of the same colour running through them only they are brighter. There is a slight underlying hint of blue which appears from time to time. The stone is oval in shape and is very thin making it a quite large stone in appearance. It would be more suited for a pendant because of its shape and size. This stone was mined at the Mulga field from a depth of forty eight feet with thirty feet of sandstone over it.
